The Morassi Quartet was formed in 2018 at the Royal College of Music by violinists Natasha Humphries and Katie Mazur, violist Toby Warr, and cellist Iza Stefańska. The quartet’s members have performed extensively abroad, including tours of France, Austria, Germany, Poland, Russia and China, as well as U.K. venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Snape Maltings, and Sage Gateshead.
The Morassi Quartet have been selected to perform in many concerts at the RCM, including the annual Chamber Music Festival, FestivALL, the Essential Bartók and Legacy of Vaughan Williams series. They have also performed in many classical music festivals across the U.K., most recently the Berkshire Chamber Music Festival and the Dartington Music Festival alongside the Brodsky Quartet.

Introduction to Gratzyna Bacewicz
String Quartet No. 4 was composed by Gratzyna Bacewicz who was a prolific composer of nearly all genres of music. She began her career at Warsaw Conservatoire studying violin, piano and composition.
From 1936 to 1938 she was principal violinist of the Polish Radio Orchestra.
During World War 2 she and her family fled destroyed Warsaw and temporarily settled in Lublin. Post war her musical career headed towards composition drawn by her many awards and commissions .
